I stopped by the South Plains Food Company a couple of weeks ago for drinks and appetizers. The bar area was a bit crowded. I suppose so, due to it being a game day. Nonetheless it was plenty of seating in the dining area but limited to 4 or 5 tables.
This was my first visit, so I don't have any other days to compare this one to. However, the service seemed a bit slow.
I was pleased with the experience I had here. The staff was pleasant and I didn't have any issues with anything or anyone. The staff was attentive and the wait time was half of what they quoted. I don't ask for much when I go to a restaurant, mostly just that the food is hot when brought out. That it was and it was tasty as well. We had the boudin egg rolls, seafood pasta, fried catfish and shrimp, onion rings, seasoned potatoes, cinnamon apples, and a kids meal. Prices are reasonable for the food and atmosphere provided. We spent around $80 including the tip. All of it was great and I will probably go back again.
This restaurant came recommended by some locals. Very nice with good food, spacious dining and an amazing deck.. Chairs were so comfy out there. Would be great to hang out and drink.
Presley was our Bartender, let me just say she had the answer for every question i had and knew the menu and restaurant like the back of her hand. She was impressive and so was the atmosphere, food and building. We sat at the bar and the bar chairs were so comfortable finally someone got it right on comfort. Food and appetizers were great, service was awesome we never went thirsty or had to ask for anything. We will be back and we will be bringing more people. 10/10 recommend this restaurant.
Been to this place two times in two days while in town for work, and their parent restaurant, the Francis Southern Table & Bar in St. Francisville, for lunch. These people care about food, service, and atmosphere. Its the full package.
Love large open rooms with lots of tall windows, high ceilings, & comfy chairs. Outdoor seating with wood furniture. Gives one a sense of rural & being outdoors. Service is quick & efficient. Also, wait staff is helpful, like I needed brisket slices cut due to my sling & it was cut into bite-size for me in kitchen. Very clean restrooms & eating area. Good selection of items on menu.
I was with a large party, so they put us in an empty room that they usually rent out for events, which I thought was really nice! While some people complained a little about the service, I thought it was superb considering he handled about 25-30 people, mostly by himself, with very few errors!
As for the food, my appetizer (crab claws) was wonderful and plentiful! I had enough to share with the people next to me and still had enough to be satisfied. My main course was the trout with corn pudding and onion rings. The sides were good, but my trout was thinner on one half, than the other, so half was pretty good, but the other half was overcooked and dry. Unfortunate, but all things considered, I just ate the good half and left the rest. One of my friends was left unsatisfied. She got the Boudin stuffed egg rolls, which neither of us liked, and a bowl of gumbo, which was ok, but not enough to be a meal.
I would try this restaurant again. I think if you went with a smaller group, and stayed away from the trout, you'd enjoy it.
Seen this place and thought it was a activity venue! Being new, the building. It is simple gorgeous. Roomy with plenty of big screen TV‘’s. They have an outdoor are with a place for live music.
So what about the food? Had the spinach dip and flat bread appetizer, simply loved the flat bread. Part cracker and part soft bread.
Had the half rack of ribs, seasoned fries and Baked Beans. The ribs were pink and tender, with a unique honey based flavor, which I really liked. The seasoned potatoes were a awesome match and the baked beans rounded it out perfectly.
My wife had the Ribeye, cooked just right with a flavor that reminded us of A1 sauce. Her sides were onion rings (best we have had so far in Louisiana) and Cinnamon Apples.
The prices are not cheap, it is however worth every penny. One happy (and full) customer, we will be back!
